How a No Carbs diet makes you dumber and fat

Think low or no carbs is a good way to lose weight? If you have bought this lie you are one of the many millions who have rejected the foods that have been the staple of most of civilization. Where did the lie start that carbohydrates (which have been the number one fuel for most of civilization) is bad? To understand this you have to understand that we live in a fad and quick fix generation where media money controls what you eat. Following a no carb diet can actually cause you greater health problems, in addition you get fat and dumb without carbohydrates.

Bad Science: Carbohydrates are bad

Most people do not understand that carbohydrates are what most of human civilization has survived on with no obesity or diabetes crisis. For instance, the Inca Indian's and Asia's diet were almost 100% carbohydrates for generations and they were a powerfully healthy civilization. Rice and corn fed the world for thousands of years without an obesity problem. Bread was consumed plentiful in Biblical times and ancient Egypt with no obesity crisis. Today we have lost common sense, we truly do not know how to eat.

WHY DO WE NEED CARBOHYDRATES TO SURVIVE? From the USDA

Carbohydrates are the macronutrient that we need in the largest amounts. According to the Dietary Reference Intakes published by the USDA, 45% - 65% of calories should come from carbohydrate. We need this amount of carbohydrate because:

  • Carbohydrates are the body’s main source of fuel.
  • Carbohydrates are easily used by the body for energy.
  • All of the tissues and cells in our body can use glucose for energy.
  • Carbohydrates are needed for the central nervous system, the kidneys, the brain, the muscles (including the heart) to function properly.
  • Carbohydrates can be stored in the muscles and liver and later used for energy.
  • Carbohydrates are important in intestinal health and waste elimination.
  • Carbohydrates are mainly found in starchy foods (like grain and potatoes), fruits, milk, and yogurt. Other foods like vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds and cottage cheese contain carbohydrates, but in lesser amounts.

Many people gain weight after losing a few pounds on low or no carbs because their bodies are nutritionally out of quack, low carb diets have one of the highest drop out rates among dieters because it is not natural. Living without carbohydrates is a great way to ruin your health and gain back more weight later. It is a fad, a trick and a trick that your body gets tired of quickly.

Dumb and Dumber without Carbs

Why you need that “Red Bull” (Bull is what it really is) for energy

Tuft University showed that removing carbs from your diet causes your brain to zone out, you get dumber and cannot remember things.

On low or no carbs you lose concentration and can't think straight, this is why so many people crash and burn on the job. People cannot keep their eyes open or they cannot concentrate on their work because the brain demands carbohydrates to think. . Without sufficient carbs your brain zones out, you get dumber.

A new study from the psychology department at Tufts University shows that when dieters eliminate carbohydrates from their meals, they performed more poorly on memory-based tasks than when they reduce calories, but maintain carbohydrates. When carbohydrates were reintroduced, cognition skills returned to normal.

The study concluded their brans started working again when it had so carbs for fuel. Carbs are great when used correctly. Most people today are not losing weight because they are insulin resistant, when you reverse insulin resistances the weight drops off. No more diabetes and no more weight gain.

*The number one insulin resistance diet in 17 countries*
